SwimTrek 60K
Swim to help save the seas
We all lack motivation to get in for a swim sometimes. Now, you can take part in our annual #SwimTrek60K and have a direct impact on the health of our environment...
This year, we are turning our popular SwimTrek 60K community swim into a global fundraising event with our fantastic partners at SeaTrees. Swimmers from around the world can gather teams of up to 6 swimmers - or take part solo, if you prefer - to reach the collective monthly target of 60-kilometres swum from November 1-30.
We will donate $5 to SeaTrees for every swimmer who takes part.
How To Take Part
Swim 60 kilometres with us this November:
- Assemble a pod of up to 6 swimmers - it's up to you if you want to make individual donations to a charity of your choosing
- For every swimmer in your team, we will donate $5 to SeaTrees - a total of up to $5000 (USD)
- Elect a Captain and send your team name to us: marketing@swimtrek.com
- Swim together to your monthly shared target of 60-kilometres. Of course, you can keep going after that and there will be prizes for whoever swims the furthest, or hits the target first.
- Every Friday throughout November (1-30), use the Paperform sign up link to send us your collective weekly distance for our Leaderboard.
- Share your 60K journey with us @swimtrek and #SWIMTREK60K
Donations
- We will donate up to $5000 (USD) to SeaTrees during this global swimming event
- Our aim is to have 1000 swimmers taking part around the world.
- That means we will donate $5 for every swimmer who takes on this challenge.
Of course, we encourage you to make your own individual donations as well!
Who Are SeaTrees?
SeaTrees Planted + Restored: 4,187,718
The mission of SeaTrees is to provide financial support to 'regenerative' projects that protect and restore critical blue carbon ocean ecosystems, including mangrove forests, kelp forests, coral reefs, seagrass meadows and 'ridge to reef' watershed conservation
Examples of how the money raised by taking part can be used:
- 5 mangrove SeaTrees planted in Baja for $16
- 10 mangrove SeaTrees planted in Kenya for $16
- 1 piece of coral grown in Bali for $38
SeaTrees also directly supports communities and scientists who protect and regenerate coastal ecosystems which can be up to 5-10x more effective than rainforests at removing carbon from the air.
