Journey to Old Paphos and visit the hilltop birthplace of the mythical Greek goddess of love: Aphrodite.
The island of Cyprus is rich in history and shrouded in myth. Join us as we discover the treasures of island life and the Mediterranean Sea, travelling to the coastal town of Peyia and the port city of Paphos.
Paphos was the capital of Cyprus during the Greco-Roman period and is now listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its well-preserved archaeological sites, including tombs, fortresses, theatres, and villas. To the east of the city is Old Paphos (also known as Kouklia) - a hilltop centre for Aphrodite's cult and the mythical birthplace of this ancient Greek goddess.
Just north of Paphos is the town of Peyia, which offers a relaxing Mediterranean climate and many more historical attractions. The town is edged by the stunning Coral Bay and a stretch of white sand known locally as the best swimming beach in the region.
During our trip you will be based at the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort with many attractions on your doorstep. To the west, you'll find the Akamas Peninsula - a beautiful nature reserve with a rugged coastline, offering lesser-known trails set in a haven for bird watchers.
To ensure you thoroughly enjoy the transition from pool to open water, our qualified swim coaches run one-to-one and group sessions. We combine these sessions with a healthy dose of encouragement, patience and, most importantly, fun! Your time with us is sure to be an incredible stage in your journey to becoming a true open water swimmer.
During your journey, we will aim to cover elements of the following units:
Unit | Content |
---|---|
Unit 1 | Breathing |
Unit 2 | Body Position and Alignment |
Unit 3 | Catch and Propulsion |
Unit 4 | Sighting |
